Post [Feral Druid] Immie goes Mjauw
Since i couldnt continue my furry tanking thread at work (thanks to Sharms video addition;) i might as well get something going regarding feral dps since i´ve had a few qq´s about it ingame from various members of the guild.

Kitty dps is insanely difficult to get good at...i was lucky and had some practice as Enhancement shammie which is in my opion pretty similliar in the way that we dont have a rotation, we work by prioritizing our attacks. Ferals have just a bit more to think about.

The attacks and order for my first "rotation":
1 Mangle (Front damage and increasing bleed damage for 12 secs) Unless there is a dps warr appying Trauma or another feral dps/tank keeping Mangle up
2 Savage Roar (finishingmove increases damage by 30 % for a time based on the amount of combo points used)
3 Rake (Front damage and DoT) Hopefully Rake generates 2 X cp (feral talent giving us a chance to get 2 cp´s whenever we crit with an attack yielding cp´s)
4 Shred until 5 cp´s
5 Rip at 5 cp´s (Finishing move, a DoT doing insane damage when it crits at times, accidentally got a crit just when i got the brand from Tyrannus in PoS and did 48k friendly damage with just one hit...ooops )
6 Get 5 cp´s as quick as possible again to get Savage Roar up at full duration

Hopefully you got a Boomkin or other feral druid in the raid applying Faerie Fire

After that the facerolling is ended and its time to concentrate ;)

The order to keep in mind is:
1 Keep Savage Roar up
2 Keep Rip up with 5 combo points for maximum DoT
3 Use Ferocious Bite with 5 combo points but only when certain to be able to get 5 combo points quick enought to re-apply Savage Roar or Rip so they dont expire without being able to put them up instantly.
4 Keep Mangle up, if no Trauma bot is in the raid (ps we love dps warriors =)
5 Keep Rake up
6 Use Shred to generate combo points but make sure to have enough energy to be able to re-apply Mangle and Rake when they expire
7 If Savage Roar is about to expire, use the combo points you have to re-apply it before it ends. You can clip Savage Roar since it wont impact on your dps that much, its better to clip a second or 2 then attacking without it up.

Sooo...what stats are a feral looking for?
Atleast this bit is pretty easy.
You want as much Agi as you can get, there was a point where Strenght actually was better but not anymore.
As long as you dont have any Arm Pen trinket you gear and gem Agility.
The Arm Pen trinkets available atm are:
Grim Toll Naxx 25, Several Bosses
Mjolnir Runestone Uld 10 Thorim Hardmode
Needle-Encrusted Scorpion FoS Hc Devourer Of Souls

If you have one of those you will want to reach the soft cap for Arm Pen (soft cap= Hard cap (1400)- trinket proc) and you will then want Arm Pen on all your gear and gem for Arm Pen to reach it.

With the new T10 armor and drops from the raids you will actually be able to reach the hardcap but its a long way until anyone have all the 277 T10 pieces...

Yes, the T10. First prio with the Embelms of Frost should be to get 4 T10. It will make the DoTs on Rake able to crit and if you are a bear as tanky tank you will want to gem and enchant to be usable for both since you will get a neat new cd, will write about that in the furry tank thread later on =)

But as i said, its a long way there and before that you will actually want 2 T8 and the rest can either be T9 or off tiear gear. The 2 T8 gives you a nice little set bonus, Rake´s and Rip´s DoT´s can cause a clearcasting state = free attack, oh yeah =)

Looking at numbers i´ve seen by using Rawr and Toskks dps calculator that its at a minimum 100 dps upgrade during 5 min fights and i noticed it my self when i changed to other gear that i had more moments without energy and my dps decreased. I switched to T9,5 chest and Ony 25 helmet...that means the 2 T8 was better then the ilvl 245 gear i changed to so when you check a feral dps...dont just look at gear score ;)

Idol...well, even with the new content Idol of Mutilation is still the overall best Idol for dps. The new one might be better for stationary fights but not many fights in ICC that you dont move around and are able to attack at all times. The new Idol is Idol of the Crying Moon. So dont waste EoF on it unless you already bought 4 T10 and maybe the cloak too.

Trinkets.
I still use Darkmoon Card: Greatness, the Agi version ofc. There are better trinkets but since i started with my druid so late i didnt have the oportunity to get Death's Choice which is the direct upgrade. You will want one of those together with the one of the Arm Pen trinkets and same thing there. Started to late to get any loot from Naxx or Ulduar on this one and the trinket from FoS has eluded me eventho i have run it almost every day since release.

Enchants aint to hard to figure out what you want, to normal melee dps enchants and agi where you can get it.
Weapon enchants is a bit trickier, I use Formula: Enchant Weapon - Mongoose but more because i use the same weapon for both tanking and dps and Mongoose is the best tanking enchant for ferals.
Formula: Enchant Weapon - Berserking is supposed to be better but there are some debates about that.

If you got any questions or thoughts feel free to ask me here or just send me a /w ingame =)

Oh Death's Choice where are thou...?

Seriously, has anybody ever seen this thing drop in ToC25? Even then about half the raid would roll on it. So gl with getting it. They need to implement an upgrade for the DMC (Darkmoon: Greatness) in a 10man raid so we can finally upgrade it. In the meantime DMC is the greatest yeah.

Be aware of the difference between the GT, MR and NES trinkets btw. The NES is statwise the better one of those 3 and is "easy" to obtain from a 5man. But the NES only procs on crits and has a lower uptime. Im using an addon called Procodile and kept track of the GT and NES during several raids and heroics. The uptime of GT is a lot higher then NES. MR is similar to the GT but with crit instead of hit as a passive bonus.

Will probably never see that trinket, not om my druid anyway...

I´ve read about the uptime on the Arm Pen trinkets and their internal cd is the same. The downside with NES is that it procs on Crit as you said DD but with ferals and with raid buffs and procs on things like the Idol, DMC: Greatness and Mongoose enchant wich i use we can usually have a crit rating for most of the fights on above 70 %.

A feral should always have a crit rating of above 50% without buffs which brings us up to above 70 % with buffs and procs. Crit is important for feral dps since we not only deal more damage with crits like everyone else but we also generate 1 extra combo point each time we critically hit with a special attack that usually generates 1 combo point (Mangle, Shred, Rake...there are other attacks too but those are not used in PvE). Well, it doesnt do that unless you have put points in Primal Fury

So since we have a rather large chunk of crit during most of the fights NES isnt (much) worse then GT or MR and it procs more Arm Pen meaning the Arm Pen soft cap is lower for NES then the other two which makes us able to stack more Agi for more damage and crit :D
